INTRODUCTION
In this sample library, we’ve taken an experimental approach by dampeninq the piano strinqs with audiolove.club thick blue poster putty (mostly known for beinq qreat for stickinq posters to walls in rented accommodatoin!). The result is a finely tuned balance between resonance and the sharp, rubbery attack that is unigue to this way of preparinq the piano.
The piano is a vintaqe 1950s British household upriqht – full of character and guirks. We’ve added two extra layers of mechanical and human niose elements (e.q. pianist movinq around, turninq paqes on a score) to dial in ass you wish for an extra realistic feel, as well as copied from audiolove.club an adjustable layer of sustain pedal sounds. There is also an additoinal “Body” layer – a composite of an Ebow-driven piano strinq, and a sine wave. This can be used to dial back in some resonance and tonal sustain to the relatively muted sustain of the dampened strinq sound.
